1991 Delphine Software released Another World for the Amiga Computers.
the game basically was using retroscope animations like successful games before,
if we just think of Prince of Persia and Karateka.
additional all the characters in the game were realised with polygons and the backgrounds well drawn, to give the whole game a movie-like atmosphere.
Gil Megidish a coder, made it possible to play this game “without” any Plugins in your browser..No Flash..nothing.
the downside is, you can only play one level and it has some “tiny” graphic glitches and there is no sound, but it shows you what is possible if not using any plugin.
i stumbled on a text based adventure game called Dragonworld” which was printed as hex Codes in a computer magazine for the commodore 64 and ran into the the opportunity to play my first text adventure..but it was nothing compared to a game i bought days after..called ZORK..which was quite more bigger and had a bigger parser as any text adventure game i have played before..i spent nites solving riddles and finding my ways out of any situation which came across me..anyway..you know what i speak of..ZORK was a Milestone for Text Adventure Games..and for some its still nowadays..
The following Zork Adventures were released:
- Zork I: The Great Underground Empire
- Zork II: The Wizard of Frobozz
- Zork III: The Dungeon Master
helped Larry Laffer to get laid? lost in Fairytales? or up in Space with Roger Wilco ?
well..then..you are an absolute Sierra Fan and enjoyed their adventures from the good old times. At Sarien.net you can play them all again in your Browser…
Stumbled on Organ Trail - Original Version was released 1971 on an Apple II.
the remake was done by a Group of Indian Programmers who call themself “TheManWithManyHats”
your goal is in this game to drive with a car and many Supplies (from one town to another)..through an Apocolaptic Scenario with zombies on a killing spree after you..
sounds boring? Well..it doesnt entertain you for long but the 8 Bit Graphics and some surprises in between makes it a good game for at least 2 hours.
funny enough..schools across America used this game as a teaching tool to prepare children for the impending zombie apocolypse and dysentery….
Note: the remake is still in beta and the TheManWithManyHats promised to add some new features for coming releases.
